Christmas Shoe Box Appeal 2019

Here at 20/20 Window Cleaning Teesside, we firmly believe that we all should try to help each other. We wish there was no need for a difference to be needed to be made – but unfortunately there is. This being said, after the success of our community of customers coming together to help a local food bank running short. We want to make a special difference this Christmas, with our Christmas Shoe Box Appeal 2019.

In 2017/18 the Social Metrics Commission (SMC) found that; An estimated 4.6 million children live in poverty in the UK

Social Metrics Commission (SMC)

Throughout the first 2 weeks of December we would kindly like to ask our customers & friends to help us make a huge difference this Christmas to children in our local area. We aim to collect and put together as many Christmas Shoeboxes as possible and get them distributed to local food banks and charities in time for Christmas day.

We appreciate, that time is tight, which is why we aim to make it easier to help collect items but offering to pick any items up on our rounds. If we all work together, we will be able to really help make a difference with our Christmas Shoe Box Appeal 2019.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to have an entire shoebox, anything is welcome and our team here at 20/20 Window Cleaning Teesside will wrap the boxes, and package everything up. Single items or if you wish to do a full shoebox, it is entirely up to you. The important factor is if we all pull together we can make a huge difference. It is often a problem of lack of time when it comes to appeals like this, but hopefully as we can collect items from you, we should be able to make the process of helping others a little quicker and easier.

We have put below some ideas of items that would be suitable:

Boys

  • School supplies; colouring pencils, felt pens, pencil cases, notebooks, rulers, crayons…
  • Toys; action figure, small musical instrument, deflated football & pump, games….
  • Hygiene items; comb, hairbrush, toothbrush…

Girls

  • School supplies; colouring pencils, felt pens, pencil cases, notebooks, rulers, crayons…
  • Toys; dolls, small musical instrument, costume items, skipping rope, games….
  • Hygiene items; comb, hairbrush, toothbrush, compact mirrors…

As we collect items, we will group these together for boys and girls, and in age category. If you would like to donate a full shoebox please let us know what age range and gender it is for so we can make sure it goes to the most suitable child. We can not use; used or damaged items; anything of a political, racial or religious nature; sharp objects; glass containers or fragile items.

Our main collections will be the first 2 weeks of December however, we can arrange collections anytime between now and the 18th December 2019 (to allow enough time to distribute the shoeboxes)
